Senior Data Scientist - Insurance & Machine Learning & Pricing Analytics
Our client, a leading London Market insurer, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their growing Data Science function. Following significant investment and increased adoption of data science across the business, this role offers the opportunity to work on a range of high-impact machine learning and analytics initiatives that are influencing business strategy and underwriting performance.
Reporting directly to the Data Science Manager, you will join a close-knit team of three data science professionals and play a key role in shaping and delivering advanced analytical solutions across the organisation. Current and upcoming projects include enhancing digital capabilities through the company's online quote and bind platform, developing greenfield actuarial machine learning models, improving property underwriting capabilities, and building sophisticated pricing models to support commercial decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist looking to step into a senior-level position within a business where data science has genuine visibility and support from senior stakeholders.
This is a permanent role paying up to £92,000 and requires 3 days per week in the London office.

Experience Required:
- Demonstratable years' experience in a Data Scientist position, with the ability to operate at Senior Data Scientist level
- Strong Python development skills with experience building and deploying machine learning solutions
- Experience working with MLOps frameworks and best practices
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and deployment processes
- Experience developing, tuning, testing, and optimising machine learning models
- Good understanding of model validation, experimentation, and performance measurement techniques
- Insurance industry experience is essential
- Exposure to actuarial modelling and pricing optimisation within insurance is highly desirable and close to essential
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- A collaborative, hardworking, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Experience with Databricks or similar modern data platforms
- Exposure to pricing, underwriting, or actuarial analytics within the insurance sector
